There is nothing better than being this munchkin's mama. He has really started asserting his independence and has shown just how opinionated he is. And a trying as it is right now I'm loving it because he is learning that he has his own thoughts and testing his boundaries.
And I'm learning that I need to be selective on what I say no to so that he really gets the importance of what it means when I do say it. Its definitely a learning process for both of us.
One thing I have learned is if I ask him if he is supposed to be doing something it gives him time to think about it and correct what he is doing sometimes without me having to step in and say no. If you had told me that my seventeen month old would be able to process something like that I would have told you no but they learn and pick up on so much more than you realize. He was standing on the couch the other night and I asked him if he was supposed to be standing up and you could see the wheels turning before he made the decision to sit down. I love watching him learn.
