Happy Easter!

Today Brantley celebrated his first Easter!  His Easter basket (in the shape of a dinosaur - so freaking cute) consisted of a Scooby Doo video, a Baby Einstein book that was touch and feel of animals, a couple of new bibs, and a rubby ducky for the bath tub.  The boy LOVES his bath and splashes like he's gone mad the minute you set him down in the water.  So I figured he could use a few bath toys.

As you can tell from the pictures - I'm pretty sure he loved it.  He was so excited when he woke up this morning.

We went to my cousins house for lunch and an egg hunt.  He was over the egg hunting and ready for a nap, but it was good practice for next year when he is on the move.

When we got home, Craig mowed the yard and Brantley and I headed to the park for a run.  He's the best running buddy ever. He loves people watching and is so content just strolling.  Two miles and he probably could have gone for more, but I was ready to get home.

Five Years Ago...

  • I was putting on my wedding dress and had never felt prettier.
  • I was surrounded be family and friends and had never felt more loved.
  • I was walking down the aisle to the man I loved and was committing my life to.
  • The tears were flowing as I vowed to walk through the rest of my life with you. To love you. To always fight for this. For us.
  • I never imagined how much work marriage really was. But also never realized how rewarding it was, especially when you worked through the tough stuff and come out on the other side – stronger.
  • I never imagined how much we would experience together. How much we would see together. How much we would feel together.
  • I never knew what it meant to grow with someone. To learn more about yourself and learn more about them. To change and mesh those changes together so you could grow as a couple and not apart.
  • I never knew what it would be like to look down at pregnancy test and realize we were expecting a baby, hands shaking, voice cracking, tears coming, standing in the middle of our kitchen.
  • I never knew what it would feel like to lay eyes on our beautiful son. Never knew we could both feel so much love for someone we had just met.
  • I never knew I could love you more. And I do – love you – so. much. more.
Happy Anniversary, Craig!  Thank you for choosing me to be the one you want to walk through life with.  Thank you for loving me.  You are my best friend and I could not imagine my world without you in it. Or in the center of it, exactly where you belong.

Here is the video from our first anniversary to take us back.  Our first apartment together, getting out of the Army, working on our house on the weekends, our foster dog, your first niece Briley making her grand entrance in the world, vacations.

iPhone Photo Update

I think it's time for a iPhone photo update.  His first 7 months is documented on my phone.  I am really trying to take more pictures with my "real" cameras!

Snuggling on a Saturday morning.  Watching cartoons and playing with his snail.
Sleeping like a baby after a long day.  I love rocking him when he is out like this.  So peaceful.
We kept him out too late one Friday night.  :)
Playing with his toys on a Saturday morning.
Such a big boy!  When did he get to be so big?  We bought his next car seat.  Installing it this week more than likely - but he took it for a test run last night.    I think it's a success.  No smile because he was ready for bed.
 He loves this wagon!

I LOVE the weekends!

I am so looking forward to spending time with Brantley this weekend. I miss him all the time during the week, but a lot more than usual this week for some reason. Probably because we had such a great weekend last weekend and I didn't want Monday to come. Then once it did come, I couldn't wait for Friday!

Here are a few recent pictures. I love the ones of him in his new wagon (thanks to Anna's friend, Troye) taken last weekend. The one of him standing at his Exersaucer was last night. He is really getting the hang of balancing himself. He tries so hard to pull up but can't quite get his feet to cooperate. He's getting there though.

Gosh, I love him!

Monday Weigh In

The Biggest Loser – Week 11

Weight Lost This Week: 1.2 pounds
Total Weight Lost: 17.0 pounds
Weight Left til 28 by 28 Goal: 11.0 pounds
Weight Left til Goal Weight: 24.6 pounds

I hit a new set of numbers this week! Wahoo!

I could have done better this week. I could have worked out more. I could have laid off the M&Ms. I could have laid off the hamburger from Farm Burger (that was AMAZING!). But it is encouraging to know that I am not starving myself, still eating treats that I want every now and then, just monitoring how much I am eating, and still losing a consistent amount of weight each week. I am averaging about 1.5 pounds each week. Give or take. Which I am okay with.

I still have a long way to go (which is why I am documenting it on my blog – so that even after our Biggest Loser Competition is over I’ll still keep going) – but it is nice to see the numbers going down in weight and in my pant size. I love putting on pants I haven’t worn since way before Brantley was born. Way. Before. I have a pair in or spare bedroom closet that I wore to a shower when Craig and I were getting married. I WILL be in them by the end of the year.

Munchkin,

You are seven months today! And I am so on top of things by having your pictures taken and writing your seven month post on the exact day! Go mama!

At seven months, you...

  • Weigh 21.2 pounds.
  • In size 3 diapers. Next box we buy will probably be size 4's.
  • Smile all of the time! Still such a happy baby.
  • Have started reaching for the person who want to hold you. It's become a very fun game for you to go back and forth between two or more people.
  • The exercauser and bouncy seat are still a few of your favorite toys.
  • Your schedule has shifted a little bit and you now get a bottle right before you are about to go to bed so we have been working this last week on cutting out your "dream feeding" at about nine o'clock. You have adjusted great. This past Friday night you slept from 7 pm to 8 am. I know I'm lucky to have such a great sleeper - but we've also worked to get you to be this great of a sleeper - so I take some of the credit. :)
  • Most nights you are asleep by 7:30. You wake up most mornings at 7:00. I feed you before we head to Grandma or Ms. Sandy's.
  • You've now switched to three "meals" a day. You have a jar of food for breakfast, one for lunch, and one for dinner.
  • Your favorite foods are pretty much anything BUT peas. You HATE peas. Sweet potatoes and bananas are definitely top on your list. You tried banana puffs for the first time today and everytime you put one in your mouth you said "mmmm". It's adorable.
  • You are sitting up so well. You topple every now and then but for the most part you have it down.
  • Daycare on Thursdays and Fridays have been working out really well. You love being around other kids/babies.
  • You got your first two teeth this last month and your smile is even cuter if that is at all possible.
  • You LOVE being outside.
  • You drink 8 ounces every four hours. And when you are at home with me on the weekends you take two naps (one from about 10:15 to 12:00 and one from 2:30 to 4:00). Nap times vary during the week.

You are the sweetest little man ever. You make me smile every day and I love you so, so, so, so much!
